Fall Into Fashion: Must-Have Kids' Styles for a Cozy Season

Fall is hands down my favorite season for styling! As we say goodbye to shorts and T-shirts, I'm thrilled to welcome all things cozy and chic. From cute boots to fuzzy beanies, there’s so much to love about autumn fashion. If you’re on the hunt for adorable AND affordable pieces, Once Upon A Child is the place to be!

My son is rocking a quilted pullover from my all-time favorite kids' clothing brand. I actually picked this up over a year ago knowing how quickly kids grow! He’s layering it over a flannel shirt and pairing it with grey cargo pants (though I think it might be time for a new pair since these are looking a bit short). His outfit is completed with stylish slip-on boots and a beloved beanie he’s had since he was a baby.

My daughter looks adorable in a popcorn cardigan layered over a long-sleeved shirt featuring a cute deer graphic, both found at Once Upon A Child. She’s keeping it comfy with leggings and sporting a new pair of boots. You might recognize her beanie from one of last year’s blog posts — it’s great to see how timeless pieces can be mixed and matched!

As we transition into cooler weather, I recommend going through the clothes that are already in your kids' closets first. We spent a good amount of time trying on the fall and winter clothing they wore last year to see what no longer fit and ended up with a nice pile to sell to Once Upon a Child — for cash on the spot of course. Afterward, I made a list of what we needed for the season ahead, and I was thrilled to find all the tops and layers the kids will need for this year!

I’ve made a couple of trips to Once Upon A Child to sell outgrown clothes and toys, and I was able to pocket nearly $100! It feels great to declutter while making a little extra cash to invest in their fall wardrobe.
