If the Shoe Fits

Hi everyone! This month's topic is all about shoes. If you have kids, you know how much of a hassle these essentials can be to keep up with. Whether it’s not having the right pair for the weather or realizing mid-outing that someone’s outgrown their size again, it’s always something!
Luckily, I’ve found so many great pairs of shoes for my kids at Once Upon A Child. Take my daughter’s favorite jelly flats, for example—I scored this adorable pair at my local Once Upon A Child, brand new with tags, just for a few bucks! I like to tell her they’re glass slippers to add a little extra magic.
Recently, my son got to pick out some shoe charms for his new clogs. These shoes are a win for me—they’re easy to slip on and off, breathable, and protect his toes. Plus, my kids love personalizing them with the charms!
And the best part? When the kids outgrow their shoes, we can bring them back to Once Upon A Child and sell them for some extra cash—it’s a win-win when you buy, sell, and repeat!
Every family’s shoe collection looks a little different. I try to keep a small list of what we actually need and it works for us! It helps cut down on impulse buys and makes shopping more intentional.
With kids’ feet constantly growing, here’s a helpful life hack that I found online that I wanted to share! Use a bendy straw to measure your child’s foot. Just bend it to match their foot length, cut off the extra, and keep it in your bag. The next time you stop into Once Upon A Child, you’ll have an instant, easy measuring tool ready to go!
