Smart and Sustainable Shopping

Let’s talk about why I prefer thrifting over going to a store and making brand-new purchases. First of all, less stuff is ultimately thrown away. When we thrift, we not only use fewer resources overall, but less waste ends up in landfills. Shopping secondhand is a perfect way to give some awesome items to a new home. I wish I would have known about Once Upon A Child when I was pregnant with my son. I was always paying full price at stores and spending hours just trying to find a single item that never lasted very long because all kids soon outgrow their items.

Because my two kids go through clothes like crazy, being able to gather up items that no longer fit them and sell them for cash is a bonus. For this reason, I will forever choose Once Upon A Child. Once Upon A Child gives you that opportunity to bring in gently used clothing and get paid on the spot. They buy and sell gently used kids' clothes, toys, shoes, equipment and more. With that being said, they have so many like-new items from popular name brands and sell them for less than retail prices.

The weather is starting to get warmer day by day, so I gathered a bunch of summer pieces that no longer fit the kiddos and brought them into my local store. Not only did I walk out with extra cash in my pocket, but I also walked out with an entire summer wardrobe for the kids, with a total of 25 items. Knowing another family can enjoy the kids' gently used clothes as much as I did puts a smile on my face. When I say Once Upon A Child is your one-stop shop, believe me, it is.

With all that being said, thrifting is your way to go. Not only are you saving money, but you're also preserving the environment. Simply said, thrifting keeps used clothing out of landfills and extends its useful life.
