Stylish Back-to-School Prep: For a Confident Start

Hey there! I'm back with another exciting summer blog post! This time, let's dive into the back-to-school season, which can be thrilling and a little nerve-wracking. As parents, our job is to reassure and equip our kids with everything they need to succeed. For me, that means ensuring they have stylish, functional outfits that help them feel confident and comfortable.
My daughter is starting Pre-K 2 this year, so I've stocked her wardrobe with graphic T-shirts and biker shorts for the warm weather. As fall approaches, she'll transition into cozy long sleeves and leggings. I recently found a beautiful purple gauze dress at Once Upon A Child for just $4.50, perfect for her first-day photos that our school always takes. She's been loving that dress all summer! My son will be sporting a comfortable pullover shirt with windbreaker shorts, also from Once Upon A Child for $4.50.
Here's a fun idea: check out this DIY photo setup for your kid's “First Day of School" pictures! Start by creating a backdrop using party streamers taped to the wall to mimic notebook paper. As a part-time balloon artist, I couldn't resist crafting a balloon pencil to add to the setup—I'm quite proud of how it turned out!
Whether your kids are entering kindergarten or middle school, Once Upon A Child has something awesome for every age group. They offer gently used clothing and accessories from newborns to preteens. Wishing everyone a fantastic school year ahead, and remember to send your kids off in comfortable outfits that will make them feel good about themselves!
