About Us
Questions about selling to us?
Thank you for your interest in selling to us at Once Upon a Child Anchorage!
For Once Upon a Child, selling is about quality, not quantity. We have trained buyers to review each and every item that that our customers bring in. By pre-sorting and reviewing what you may want to sell to us, you will enhance the amount and value of what we would be able to purchase.
A couple of things to keep in mind: We cannot buy everything that is brought in to us. There are a variety of reasons we may pass on your items which include:
- It is a style that we know doesnt sell well for us based on previous history
- We may simply have too much of that item or size
- We may find a stain you missed. Our fluorescent lights show things that home lighting doesnt. This happens and is not personal.
- Wear and style are subjective. Again, this is not personal. This is simply an observation based on our years of experience and can vary buyer to buyer. For example on larger sizes, we are able to accept more wear that we are on newborn sizes.
- There may be a safety issue or recall on something. We cannot accept items that do not have their original parts and pieces. We receive recall notices from the Consumer Product Safety Commission on a daily basis.
- We may ask for you to relaunder or clean your items. There are a lot of children (and parents) with allergies or smell sensitivity.

How do I bring in my items to sell?
Because of the extremely high volume of items that customers bring us to review, it is imperative your items are contained in a bag, box or tub. We do ask that for ease and quickness of sorting that your items are laid flat (no hangers please) or folded, with pieces together.
At this time we are only accepting up to 2 white trash bag sized containers of clothing per household, per day. We are processing unlimited shoes, toys, equipment and furniture items.
What are the hours I can sell to you?
Our current buying hours are Monday thru Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
We understand that this can be an inconvenience due to work hours, but we are very limited on our trained buyers at this time. We are in process of hiring and we are hoping to be able to extend our buying hours soon!!
How will I get paid?
We offer cash or a check, depending on the amount. Or you can always do a trade or receive store credit!!
