What are your hours? What are your buying hours?
Our Store Hours are Monday Saturday: 9:30am-8:00pm and Sunday: 10:00am 6:00pm.
Our Buy Counter is open every day and CLOSES ONE HOUR before the store closes to ensure we can process your items.
How does the buy process work?
We're not a consignment store. We offer cash on the spot for items meeting our style, safety, and condition standards, aligned with store demand. You'll receive immediate payment for items we purchase from you, and you can choose cash or store credit.
1.) Gather: Gather up your like-new & gently-used apparel (including costumes and swimwear), Shoes & Specialty Shoes like cleats in sizes Infant 0-Youth 7), Toys, and Equipment.
2.) Sort: We are looking for items in ready-to-wear condition. Equipment and toys must meet current safety standards and include all parts. TOSS items that are too well-loved (stains, excessive pilling, missing pieces, or things that are not working.) Make sure items are: CLEAN (freshly laundered, please!) COMPLETE (all parts & pieces), and CONTAINED and laid flat in ONE container, box, or tote. We DO NOT accept trash bags for safety reasons.
3.) Bring it in: Bring in your container(s) of apparel / shoes / small toys and any large toys or equipment, and our amazing staff will sort through your items and select those we would like to purchase. Items are then entered into a computer which generates a quote based on style, safety, condition, and store demand.
4.) Get Paid: When your offer is ready, we will show you which items we would like to purchase, as well as explain to you why we are sending any items home. If you accept our offer, we pay you CASH on the spot (if offer exceeds $100 then a check will be offered in place of cash).
Do I need an appointment to sell my gently used kids stuff?
No appointment needed! We buy all seasons, all the time! Our Buy Counter is open daily until one hour before store closing.
We are a same-day, first come/first serve process. Once you drop your items off, we will quote you an estimated wait time. You do not need to wait in the store, but you do need to return to the store at your quoted time or before closing time that day.
How much will you give me for my stuff?
Typically, we offer between 20% to 40% of retail value for items we purchase from our customers. Our evaluation process involves careful inspection for style, safety, condition, and the demand within our store.
While you will earn more by selling items yourself through platforms like the Marketplace, our service provides convenience and saves you time. We understand the challenges of negotiating and meeting strangers, which is why Once Upon A Child offers a hassle-free alternative.
Are there items that you don't purchase?
While it is difficult to provide an exhaustive list of items we aren't able to buy, here are some common examples:
- Recalled items and items under potential recall
- Equipment and Baby Gear over 3 years old (as the recall database does not go back that far)
- Items that have been altered or modified from the original manufacturer (think repainted)
- Used Car Seats (It is against the law for us to buy or sell used car seats as it is impossible to guarantee their safety or accident history)
- Used Helmets
- Used Socks / Underwear
- Used Bedding
- Room DĂ©cor
- Baby Formula / Food
- Used Feeding Items (think bibs / dishes / bottles)
- Breast Pumps & Used Accessories
- Diaper Pails
- Maternity / Nursing items
How does Trading work?
Trading is when you buy and sell items in the same transaction.
What is our return policy?
Returns are accepted within 7 days with original receipt and price tags attached.

You earn one point for every dollar you buy OR sell to us!
