4th Of July Style Inspiration

I hope you’re all having a great summer so far! Our family doesn’t have any plans for Independence Day yet, but we always find fun plans for holidays. No matter how we end up celebrating the 4th of July, I know that we have great outfits ready to go. Whether it’s a BBQ or hanging out by the pool, we have fun and summery outfits on hand.
Our family loves a Hawaiian shirt theme for summer events. I was so happy when I found this tropical print smocked dress and Hawaiian shirt at Once Upon A Child. I was able to score the dress for $6.50 and the shirt for $4.50. Coincidentally, my husband already owns a blue Hawaiian shirt that we found at our local thrift store. We wore these outfits for Father’s Day, but we just might have to wear them again for Independence Day. The colors and casual summer vibes fit both holidays so perfectly. To enhance the 4th of July look, I snapped some quick photos of my kids with this patriotic DIY chain link garland.
Last year for Independence Day, I styled a red strawberry/seersucker theme and the year before that, we all wore navy gingham. I’m excited for this year’s tropical attire! It’s been fun to try different themes, especially since the kids grow up so fast that clothes from previous years won’t fit anymore. In case we decide to hang out by the pool, I've had this striped blue swimsuit stashed away for ages, and now my little girl fits into it perfectly. It pays to shop ahead. These white flower sunglasses really tie the look together. Accessories may not always stay on my kids, but they make for some adorable pictures!
If you find yourself in a bind this holiday, swing by your local Once Upon a Child and shop their patriotic section or shop the regular sections for clothing and shoes in colors that match your theme!
