A Pawsitive Start To The New Year

January marks a fresh start to a new year and it’d the best time to declutter. Did you know that Once Upon A Child pays cash for gently used children’s clothes, shoes, toys, gear and more? After Christmas, I made a trip to my local store to clear out some space in our toy storage. The kids were blessed with plenty of new toys this year, so it was time to let go of a few older items. I brought in our unwanted things and received over $30, which I used to purchase some much-needed clothing for the kids.

While we were there, I let my kids pick out one small toy each. My daughter was thrilled to find these adorable puppy figures from her favorite TV show. They light up when you press the little icons on their backs. We snagged the full set for just $6.50! These particular figures have been discontinued, and they’re in fantastic condition. Out of curiosity, I looked them up online and found resellers listing them for $50–$100. To my daughter, though, they’re priceless. She’s been playing with them every single day. Can you tell she’s absolutely obsessed with her little doggies?

That’s the magic of thrifting—you never know what treasures you’ll uncover. Whether it’s a rare collector’s item, a vintage find, or something that’s been discontinued, these gems are often worth far more than what you paid and what they originally sold for.
