Uncover Hidden Treasures and Toys Galore This Holiday Season

Hey friends! Welcome to another fun and exciting blog post! The gift-giving holidays are officially approaching, and the retails stores are already bustling with shoppers.

When it comes to holiday shopping, I like to think outside the box and keep gift buying to a minimum. My husband and I have a huge combined family, so a creative, money-saving gift strategy works really well for us. For our kiddos, we like to buy gifts we know they'll love and return to again and again (because we definitely don't need just another item laying around the house).

Our kids aren't super picky when it comes to toys, so we lean toward gently used, hand-crafted wooden toys. We tend to find the best (and most affordable) at our local Once Upon A Child. They always have a wide selection of toys, including wooden, plastic, sound-based, game sets, remote-controlled, and more.

Another great holiday shopping tip? If you're headed to Once Upon A Child to purchase apparel, accessories, gear or toys, first declutter your toy room or pull together any items that have been taking up space in your kids' closets. You can sell those items, putting a little extra holiday cash right back in your pocket. As they say, out with the old, in with the new!

During our most recent visit to Once Upon A Child, I found this very sweet, wooden makeup set in a little bag for my daughter, in the most beautiful soft pastel tones. The bag and everything in it only cost $5! 

I really love how spacious and kid-friendly Once Upon A Child’s toy section is. They are so well-organized, with their clothes, shoes, hats, baby gear, and their huge selection of toys, making visits smooth yet fun for the kiddos.
